Web Development

A Starting Point

Frontend development for a political platform led by Chris Evans. Utilizing my Pixel Perfect Scaling CSS for optimal device compatibility. Video playback, interactive debates, React, SASS.

After the 2020 election and coming off of the Bill Maher website redesign, I was drawn to Like Minded Media by it's bi-partisan fact based messaging. I felt American politics had grown out of control and we were all in the need for some civility in our discussions about policy.

I partnered up with fellow developer Mathieu Grondin and we utilized my Pixel Perfect Scaling CSS approach where we define a vw value for the html DOM element, that gives a scaling value to match perfectly to the comps. Using rems we keep absolute proportionality making the site functional across any device, while maintaining accessibility standards.

Site included a variety of video playback options, along with an interactive debate component that will show both sides of a political topic. The site was built with React, SASS and a MongoDB backend server with a custom CMS.

We really just reskinned, added functionality, SEO and Social Media options. But, it looks great. Damian Kidd did a great job with the design. One of the better UI designers I've worked with over the years.
